Your Privacy

Your stories belong to you.
We exist to help you preserve them — not to own them, sell them, or profit from them in any way other than the subscription fee you pay us.
What we store
When you use Tangy Moments we store:
- Your name, email address, and account preferences.
- The voice recordings you make, and the text transcripts we generate from them.
- The memories we extract from your conversations, including people, places, and themes you mention.
- Photos you upload.
- The book drafts we generate for you.
We do not store your payment details — those are handled entirely by Stripe and never touch our servers.
Who can see your stories
Only you can see your memories and recordings by default.
- Family editors you invite can read and edit your memories and book text, but cannot record new sessions or access your settings.
- If you choose to share your book, anyone with your share link can read the published version. You can revoke the link at any time from Settings.
- Our small engineering team can access your data for the purpose of supporting you and maintaining the service.
We never sell your data to advertisers or third parties. Tangy Moments is ad-free.
AI and your stories
We use AI (Claude by Anthropic) to help you have conversations, extract memories, and draft your book. Your stories are sent to Anthropic as part of this process.
We use Deepgram to transcribe your voice recordings. Audio is processed securely and not retained beyond the transcription request.
We do not use your stories to train AI models. We have opted out of all AI training programmes where that option exists.
How we protect your data
- All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
- Your files are stored in private cloud buckets — not publicly accessible.
- Passwords are handled entirely by Clerk and are never stored by us.
- We use row-level access controls so you can only access your own data.
Keeping and deleting your data
You can delete all your content from Settings → Danger Zone while keeping your account.
If you close your account entirely, all your data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
We retain anonymised, aggregated usage statistics indefinitely for service improvement.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies strictly necessary to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
