Every family has stories worth keeping.
The stories our grandparents and parents carry — the everyday moments, the hard-won wisdom, the family folklore — are irreplaceable. And yet most of us never find the time to record them properly.
Our story
Tangy Moments was built in New Zealand by a small team who felt that gap personally. We watched family members drift into old age with a lifetime of stories still untold, and realised the problem wasn’t a lack of love or intention — it was friction. Recording a memoir felt like a big, formal project. So people put it off, and the stories faded.
We set out to remove that friction entirely. What if capturing your life story felt as natural as a phone call with a friend? That question became Tangy Moments.
How we’re different
Most memoir tools ask you to type. We start with a conversation. Our AI guides you through your memories with warm, personalised questions — drawing out the details that would otherwise stay locked inside. You speak naturally, and we do the rest: transcribing, organising, and weaving your words into a beautifully formatted book your family can treasure for generations.
You can record sessions by voice in our app, or simply chat via WhatsApp or Telegram — no downloads or tech skills required.
Our values
- Privacy first. Your stories belong to you. We never sell your data or use it to train AI models. Full stop.
- Radical simplicity. If your grandparent can’t use it, we haven’t finished building it.
- Craft. A memoir is a precious object. We care deeply about the quality of the writing, layout, and experience.
- Honesty. We’re a small, independent team. No venture capital, no hidden agenda — just a product we genuinely believe in.
